Soft Gluten Free Naan Bread – Egg Free & Yeast Free

This recipe makes a soft and fluffy naan that you’ll love. Our naan is super soft and chewy, just like regular naan. It’s a delightful surprise!

This recipe is simple to make and doesn’t require yeast. Just mix together the ingredients and cook it in a pan. We use baking powder instead of yeast, making it perfect for people who are allergic or intolerant to yeast.

Psyllium husk is the magic ingredient that makes our dough easy to work with. It helps the dough come together smoothly and gives it a nice texture.

Ingredients:
Psyllium Husk: 20gms
Warm Water: 360gms
Buckwheat Flour: 240gms
Tapioca Starch: 130gms
Superfine Sugar: 10gms
Baking Powder: 7gms
Salt: 5gms
Xanthan Gum: 1.5gms
Thick Yoghurt: 75gms
Oil: 25gms

Please note that Weights (in grams) are often more precise.
Method:
1. In a bowl, mix psyllium husk with warm water. Wait 30 seconds.
2. In a large bowl, sift together buckwheat flour, tapioca starch, sugar, baking powder, salt, and Xanthan Gum.
3. Use a wire whisk to mix the dry ingredients (buckwheat flour, tapioca starch, sugar, baking powder, salt, and Xanthan Gum) together for about 2 minutes. This will ensure they are well combined and evenly distributed.
4. Add yogurt, oil, and psyllium gel to the dry ingredients. Stir with a spatula until a dough forms.
5. Using hands, knead the dough until smooth and pliable.
6. Cover and rest the dough for 45 minutes.
7. Divide the dough into 7 equal parts. Shape each into a ball of 115gms each.
8. Using a rolling pin roll out each ball into a round shape 7 inches in diameter and ¼ inch thick.
9. Heat a pan over medium-high heat.
10. The pan is ready when a drop of water sizzles on it.
11. Cook each naan for 1-2 minutes per side, until golden brown.
12. Brush with melted butter or ghee for extra flavor.
